Allah gave the Prophet Sulayman (A) many wonderful gifts. He taught him the language of the birds. The Prophet Sulayman (A) trained the birds. They worked in his army as messengers.

Allah gave the Prophet Sulayman (A) power over the winds. The Prophet Sulayman (A) made the winds blow gently. He did not let them wreck his ships. Finally, Allah gave the Prophet Sulayman (A) control over the jinn.

The Prophet Sulayman could make the jinn do whatever he wanted. Many of them served in his army. They went wherever he went. They obeyed his every command.

One day the Queen of Saba came to meet the Prophet Sulayman (A). Sulayman wanted to surprise her. He told the jinn: "Who can bring the throne of the Queen from her palace." In the twinkling of an eye, the throne was standing in front of the king.

The Queen of Saba saw the throne and was very surprised. She thought: "Sulayman is very powerful. Let me listen to him and bow to Allah." And she became a believer.

One day the Prophet Sulayman (A) decided to build a huge building. He wanted people to come there and pray to Allah. So he called the jinn and put them to work.

Some jinn carried the stones. Some jinn build the walls. Some jinn made beautiful gardens with fountains. King Sulayman (A) came every day to see how the work was going on. He stood in the middle of the courtyard leaning on a staff. And he watched the working jinn.

The Prophet Sulayman (A) was leaning on his staff when the Angel of Death came. The Angel of Death took his soul and he died. But he kept on standing supported by the staff. The jinn did not know that he had died and kept on working.

One day white ants got into the wooden staff. They made the staff hollow and it broke down. Sulayman (A) fell down. Only then did the jinn come to know that he was dead!

Nobody but Allah knows what really happens. He is the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing.
